It is a poor idea to lie to yourself …

Poor, well it depends how bad the lie is, a lie is generally not a good thing to anyone. I would rather call it a shame idea rather than a poor idea a lie affects you personally. A lot of people within society have lied to get to where they are today, there are however consequences in the end. Why lie to yourself when you know it’s not what you really want to hear. One can lie to make themselves feel good but for how long will that lie hold. Lying to yourself could lead to dishonesty and could affect your daily life. Living in a lie comes with a whole lot of pressure. Take for example; a humble young boy from a rural area/poor background comes to Cape Town for a better life meets up with rich students who are living a life that he can only dream of, the pressure is for him to live up to that stand, he has two options to either work to get that life (forget about education) or pretend to be living that life (meaning he might have to steal or ask money from his poor family at home). Either way he would be lying to himself because that is not the life he had hope for himself and he is not being true to his character/who is. Chose your lie as it may affect you in the long run, lie when you have to. If you are honest with yourself you won’t have to lie.
